<div style='text-align:Left;'><div><div><p><span>This layer is a mosaic of historical topographic maps retrieved online from USGS topoView (https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/topoview/). 63k scale range topographic maps with a 15-minute range were downloaded to cover the state of Maryland, where available. Maps selected for this mosaic were compared visually to find the oldest edition of best visual quality. The mosaic contains maps with edition years dating between 1892 and 1930. If necessary, a later map edition was used if the oldest edition did not match visual quality of the surrounding quadrants. The map collar containing the legend, scales, grid information, declination data, etc. was removed using the clipping tool to enable a seamless appearance between each quadrangle. ESRI ArcGIS Pro was used to clip and generate a statewide mosaic.</span></p></div></div></div> |
